Quick search (filter) is a great feature but I think it would be better if you locate filter bar bottom (or top) file view, not over address bar. In addition, filter bar should not hide until filter is active.
That is the way other filemanagers work, like Dolphin or Nomad.NET.

Yes, Quick Search box is locked over address bar, but address bar is at the top of the panel, so Quick Search is locked above panel, the same thing you wrote
(or top) file view
In addition, filter bar should not hide until filter is active.
It hides when it loses focus, for example when user selected file in panel or opened folder. Normal behavior to close it, because there is no other way to do it.

I mean just bellow address bar so filter don't hide address bar.
If I lose focus on filter bar, I really want it to stay, so I can see which filter is working just now. I should be able to close filter bar (filter off) when I wanna view all files.

Nomad.NET has similar filter bar. Even Firefox search bar is something like I talking about.
Sorry for my poor English. Thank you for your reply.

Panel area becomes a bit smaller, so filter bar does not hide any item.
Actually, filter bar is a hidden panel just bellow file panel area. Just like Firefox Search bar.

Please consider to implement the multiple filter masks, e.g. [*.doc; *.xls; *.exe]. Plus using of filter templates (like color templates).

I second the proposal for an explicit quick filter bar, wherever it may be located.
Almost every decent FM has this functionality nowadays even xplorer^2:
