Internal File Associations

It would be great if Just Manager would have an internal file association feature. That is, double-clicking on a file would open it up in a user-defined application instead of the system-wide associated application.

This would greatly improve its portable usage (provided if it would support relative paths).

As an extra, user-defined right-click context menu items feature would be also great (e.g. "Open in MyApp1", "Edit with MyApp2", etc).

Thanks for reading

Re: Internal File Associations

Just Manager already supports file associations for Viewing (F3)/Editing(F4). Look at Configuration > Settings... > View/Edit page.

Relative paths fully supported.

Re: Internal File Associations

I see, thanks.

Then my modified wish is to make it work on double click too smile

Re: Internal File Associations

It will be duplication of already existing functionality.
Moreover view/edit functionality can be assigned to any custom button or shortcut.

Re: Internal File Associations

Thanks for the quick reply.

>> It will be duplication of already existing functionality.
I see it differently. Only the activation of the existing feature would be extended (technically).
Many major file managers supports feature besides the edit/view feature, and to be honest, that's the main reason I have not switch to Just Manager already (the other one is the archive support which is on the roadmap).

For me a checkbox in the "View"/"Edit" dialog saying "Use as double-click action" or similar would do.

I agree, but that's not the same user experience.

Don't know any file managers with same functionality.

Re: Internal File Associations

I would also love this function, very important for portable use, and like the previous user said, double-click is more practical than using the "view", specially if you're more of a mouse user than a keyboard user

Please reconsider it, it's the only thing missing for me, it would make JM the perfect file manager

thanks
