Package Installers In ZIP And Portable Builds?

Hi,

Perhaps it is a good idea to package the installers in .zip files?

Saves 35KB on x64 build. Sadly still to this day, not everyone has broadband and your file is small enough that unzipping does NOT take long so why not save the bandwidth and a few seconds of download time for users with modems.

Also, how about supply portable builds? Or perhaps just mention on your site that the user can simply extract the installers using 7zip and run it has a portable app. hint hint

Take Care,

Will

I don't think it's needed, because JM installer size = 785 KB. Very small.

JM has portable type of installation = unzipping files to selected directory without creating shortcuts or registry entries.

OK well figured it was easy enough to just zip them up when you add to the site. Oh well.

And about unzipping. That probably is not obvious to all users that they can even do that.
