I use the latest unofficial pre a55:

- when copy and paste from vmware via CTRL+C then CTRL+V
instead of copying a file from vmware to JU a empty folder with the same name is created
(copy and paste via context menu not via shortcuts CTRL+C/V works as expected)

- after connecting my smart phone via usb, then CTRL+C then CTRL+V to copy via MTP
some pictures to JU, no copy file dialog is displayed. after some time the files appear in JU all of the sudden.
I checked with a process monitor tool that JU is working but the dialog is missing.
Also it takes very long to copy, average copy speed is ~500kB/s.

BTW, when do you expect MTP support?

#4 Re: Bugs and Problems » a53 bug, happens quite often » 2014-08-31 22:18:28

can't provide. happens since last 2 or 3 versions. also notice there is a slight offset, sometimes (it appears as) the font size seems to be different.

Developers cut bookmarks from browser and now Opera has lost its popularity.

again, this is not true. the browser wars started already a long time ago when microsoft killed netscape by bundling free IE with windows.
today chrome, FF, IE & safari dominate, although opera has some nice features like compression, i think opera already lost the battle, after laying off devs, switching technology and missing innovation in the recent past. in times of browser based OSes, games engines (unity, unreal) running natively without plugins, the browser market seems to be very important. those who cannot keep up the innovation pace, or don't generate enough revenues (FF sells its search engine too Google as you might know) or belong to big international enterprises, will be extincted.

I don't say FTP should not be included in a FM, but development should concentrate on more important still missing fundamental features as mentioned already in another post. as said, there are very good free FTP clients, there is no reason to waste time on such things. see FC, with its half-baked, buggy, useless FTP client...

It is better to have 10 functions in 1 program than in 10 different programs.

this is certainly not true. like this you would end up in bloatware pretty soon.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_bloat#Bloatware

nero burning rome is a bloatware prime example.

Better use the Unix philosophy to keep programs small & fast:
"Unix philosophy: "Write programs that do one thing and do it well", break a single, complicated software into numerous simpler components which can be chained together using pipes, shell scripts or another form of interapplication communication."

I got an error when deleting a shared folder <<<ERROR>>> CUtils::DeleteDirectory failed, error: Access is denied.
Deletion was possible with Windows Explorer see here .

maybe! this was caused by an user I had shared with but then I deleted the user?

here my 2 cents on where development should go and what should be avoided.

there are already very good free ftp clients tools like FileZilla or WinSCP.
Don't waste too much (any more) time on implementing FTP functions, you'll likely never ever catch up with these applications.
Anyone asking for sophisticated FTP functions, vas-y and use those programs instead of asking for more in JM because
dev time is needed for important stuff like a more flexible toolbar (ribbon bar?), a revamped quickfilter/-search, revamped
file/folder focus, revamped quickview, etc.

also don't waste time on improving the ultra sluggish search in JM.
rather implement ways to interact and use existing solutions (eg. everything )
see how this is done in other FM here.
this could apply also to other tools like file/folder comparison tools (FreeFileSync) and copy file handlers (nicecopier) .

I think you get my point. In my opinion, after implementing missing rudimentary functions like flat view smile, toggle between one/two panels via shortcut, display average speed when copying, etc.
you could dedicate more time on increasing JM flexibility (scripting smile ) as well as interaction and teamwork with existing solutions.

#10 Suggestions » macro suggestions: %LEFTPANEL%; %RIGHTPANEL%; %RANDOM% » 2014-02-11 02:45:05

1. when copying some large file over the network, I'd like to use robocopy in order to assure the correct transfer of files when the network gets disconnected at 99% after copying let's say a few GB. I managed to find a "static" solution but I'm looking for a more flexible way via a macro. The %PATH% works but I need a SOURCE and DESTINATION (active left and right panel). This could be a macro I am missing something like %LEFTPANEL% and %RIGHTPANEL% or %PANEL1% and %PANEL2% if you like.

2. sometimes I'm missing a %RANDOM% macro which would allow me to select a random file (eg. music or movie)

3. another FM allow automation via scripting, will this come any day?

edit: here is how it's done in other FM:

PS: I know you're a 1 man show, so take your time. smile

#11 Bugs and Problems » open dos command in network path error: UNC path not supported » 2014-02-11 00:11:41

again some sort of limitation, instead of opening the dos command prompt at the network path, c:\windows is displayed.
same misbehavior in FC XE, dopus does as expected though.  mad

update:
ok, I did some tests. you should use pushd instead of cd:

cmd /K "pushd \\server\volume\directory"

that should work I guess.

watch log file:

works in dopus of course neutral

well this seem to be some sort of limitation...
ATM justmanager will not open a favorite folder from the nav. panel when active tab is locked:

10.02.2014 21:31:37 CPM::IsActionBlocked Navigation not allowed, because tab is locked, panel: 0000000001DD5340

in my opinion, the fav. folder should be opened in a new tab rather than doing nothing.

update: when clicking on .. in a locked tab a new tab is opened. when clicking on blank space nothing happens.

I guess something is wrong with the color selection in the dialog, as the color is changed in the field of the Text column. the color selection in the font dialog has no effect.

what keeps me from switching completely to JM is because some in my opinion indispensable
features like quick filter and flat view are not implemented yet. see:

http://justmanager.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?id=101
http://justmanager.ru/forum/viewtopic.php?id=240

as I could not find any roadmap, is there a change to come to know when these two fundamental
features will find their way into JM?

any other serious FM (e.g. FreeCommander, DOPUS) has this functionality.

1. same view icons as in winexplorer
other FM use the same icons as winexplorer to change view settings, this should be applied in JM as well in my opinion.

2. incorporate change views in RMB context menu as in winexplorer when clicking somewhere in panel
EkKG4rk.png

3. toggle views via CTRL+middle mouse as in winexplorer

Is Recycle Bin access really required?

no, but some FM support it.

image the possibilities: eg. after deletion, sort by name/size etc. to quickly find & restore a file.
or navigate rec.bin then turn on quick view to preview which file to restore....

pretty useful feature in my opinion, once you get used to it.

edit: though, if you'd asked me to choose I'd rather prefer "quick filter bar" & "flat view" instead of that feature.
