very handy feature, supported by several FM even WinExplorer.
ok I understand, i'm just trying to help improving JM.
I think it's not a bug at all. You've searched and got list, why it should be updated. It's not a panel, just search results.
while your objection seems valid at first sight you may also consider:
1. most FM work like this e.g. XY, or FC just to mention some.
2. the question is whether you consider/define the search result window as static or as dynamic.
from my point of view in any case where file operations are allowed, this is typically the case for instance in any open/save file dialog window,
the implication of such operation should immediately be visible.
ATM any file operation applied in JM search window leads to an obsolete/incorrect search result.
BTW I found another bug: neither the "Rename" entry in RMB context nor "F2" is working:
- search for something
- delete then a located file
-> search dialog still displays the deleted file, therefore file cannot be viewed, etc.
(well, I hope you don't call this trivial...)
the "System folders" Entry in nav. panel contains two entries "Program Files" and "Program Files (x86).
in a 32 Bit system both link to the same place therefore "Program Files (x86)" should not be displayed.
There is no command for such functionality.
would be nice to have it though, in order to show/hide the navigation panel via a button.
I'd like to add an button in the main toolbar to show/hide the navigation panel
but I cannot find a command for that in the "toolbar customization" dialog.
when changing panels layout eg from columns count 2 to columns count 1
previously collapsed Favorites and System folders are expanded in navigation panel.
(issue: panel layout change should not affect navigation panel)
For Navigation Panel this functionality can be implemented...
great, hopefully you'll find the time & muse to implement this soon.
i dunno if you got me right, it is possible to drag & drop folders to fav. folders:
what I rather would like to see implemented is an option to drag & drop files or folders directly into a fav folder:
this feature is a real time saver, with that implemented panel navigation is no longer needed for simple files/folders operations!
i understand that file operations are about to be refactored...
nevertheless I'd like to mention this suggestion as an integrated file op dialog looks really nice in SC.
undelete accidentally closed tab via CTRL+SHIFT+T not yet implemented.
(implemented in other FM or FireFox)
Can you be more specific. Describe in more details.
I'm speaking of custom favorite folders defined by users in JM.
ATM JM loads a folder into a panel after clicking on a favorite folder link.
the opposite way should also work: a user should be able to copy/move files/folders via drag & drop
directly into these favorite folders.
by that one could manage files&folders easily without having to access them and without loading folders in first place.
simply drag & drop a selected file into a custom fav. folder, that's it.
I cannot delete a file because "source file name(s) are langer than is supported by the file system."
other FM like MC support this kind of deletion.
ok, so you confirm an issue here? Updates are correct in other FM.
